Kazakhstan Fosters Nation’s International Competitive Skills by Investing in Language Teaching

Over 450 Kazakhstan secondary schools equipped with language teaching software by Sanako

Kazakhstan is transforming its whole education system with "Towards Competitive Kazakhstan" program. The aim of the Ministry of Education and Science is to upgrade the quality of education on all study levels and to integrate Kazakhstan into world economy by developing internationally competitive skills. There is especially a need for more extensive studies in foreign languages, such as Russian and English.

As part of the program, new pedagogic and information technology is being introduced to support the language studies in schools. Today one classroom in 459 secondary schools in Kazakhstan is equipped with modern language teaching software provided by Sanako, the global leader in developing language teaching software and language labs for the educational sector. Sanako partner Nurecom Ltd. has delivered and integrated the PCs, furniture and other related elements in the classrooms.

"Language skills are in a crucial role for any country to succeed in global economy. Kazakhstan has ambitions to be among the top developed nations in the world and this project is a step toward that goal", Kimmo Kärpijoki, Vice President in Project Sales at Sanako says.

"The project started in May 2010 and it took only 5 months to complete. The co-operation with the schools and our partner was really smooth and we did not face any big challenges during the project", he continues.

"All the schools have been installed with language and multimedia laboratories. Teachers have been trained to use Sanako’s Study 1200 in their language teaching and majority of them have already used it. They are very satisfied with the solution", Kudaibergenuly Nuraly, CEO at Nurecom says.

Kazakhstan is investing dozens of millions in Euros in the development programs in the educational sector to take the quantum leap and succeed in global economy.

Kazakhstan schools were provided with Sanako Study 1200 software including the exam module and headsets. The system transforms any computer classroom into a versatile language learning environment and enables teachers to conduct versatile and effective lessons that combine speaking, listening and written text.
